Don’t Risk the Click!!

Think Before You Click
So what is the leading cause of cybersecurity breaches?  A misconfigured firewall? Failure in malware and virus protection software? A previously undiscovered application vulnerability?  Nope. 80% of all cybersecurity breaches happen because of human error. This fact highlights the necessity of becoming extremely vigilant when it comes to our personal and professional digital habits. Malicious links in tweets, texts, social media posts and most certainly email can open the flood gates of malicious software infections and cyber intrusions.  None of us want to be responsible for exposing our employer to a devastating ransomware attack that could threaten the very continuity of their business, but we could be doing exactly that if we aren’t careful.

“Always be wary of clicking on links or downloading anything that comes from someone you don’t know or if it is something you weren’t expecting,” says Christina D’Antonio, Cybersecurity Service Manager for GreyCastle.  “Be aware that threat actors are extremely good at spoofing legitimate communications.”

If you don’t know for sure, don’t risk the click!
