Position Description

The Director of Finance is responsible for the company’s near and long-term financial strategy, stability, growth and profitability. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Finance works closely with senior leadership to provide fiscal responsibility that enables our business and operational units.

Position Responsibilities

  • Leading the financial operations and financial strategy of the company
  • Conducting regular financial assessments for leadership, the Board of Directors and owners
  • Establish and monitor budgets in compliance with the requirements of company departments
  • Identifying, planning for an allotting funds for capital projects
  • Developing annual financial budgets and projections for the company
  • Conducting analysis of financial risks and benefits on business initiatives
  • Overseeing internal controls
  • Conducting feasibility studies
  • Monitoring and maintaining expenditure and cash flow
  • Identifying future investments and evaluating current investments
  • Managing tax compliance and staying current with applicable tax laws and regulations
  • Establishing and overseeing the company’s financial systems
  • Set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel (management accountants, internal auditors etc.)
  • Oversee all audit and internal control operations

    • Supervisory Responsibility

    Members of the Finance and Accounting functions, as well as associated vendors, including accounting and tax firms.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machine

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, and at least 40 hours per week. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. This position requires up to 40% travel. Some of the travel may be to other states within the United States and international.

    Required Education and Experience

    • 5+ years of proven experience as director of finance or in similar role
    • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
    • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
    • BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
    • CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
    • Master's in Finance or MBA
    • Experience managing a company's cash flow
    • Ability to take complex data and find the key metrics
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. QuickBooks, SAP)
