Position Description

The Information Technology Intern is responsible for installation, configuration and maintenance of laptops, mobile devices, and all software for the Company. The IT Intern is a valuable team member and is essential to the delivery of security services at GreyCastle Security.

Position Responsibilities

  • Configure and deploy computers and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards and printers
  • Configure and deploy software such as operating systems and office applications
  • Configure and deploy cloud-based applications such as email, hosting and services
  • Configure and deploy communications systems such as phones and mobile devices
  • Manage and maintain all hardware and software above
  • Support Helpdesk ticket queue
  • Plan/Perform software upgrades, deployments, changes and other activities
  • Communicate status, issues and other milestones to supervisor
  • Configure, execute and test software updates
  • Perform all assigned duties with the highest level of security controls
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  • Computer Science Major
  • Relevant College Courses
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suites
  • Proficiency with Windows OS (Win 10, Win 7)
