Position Description

The Senior Information Technology Specialist is responsible for developing and executing an IT strategy for a fast growing company. The Senior IT Specialist is also responsible for procurement, installation, configuration and maintenance of laptops, mobile devices, network devices, servers, storage, cloud applications and all software for the Company. The Senior IT Specialist is a critical team member and is essential to the strategy and delivery of security services at GreyCastle Security.

Position Responsibilities

  • Identify and procure hardware and software
  • Configure and deploy computers and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, etc…
  • Research, Configure, and deploy software such as operating systems and office applications
  • Configure and deploy cloud-based applications such as email, hosting and services
  • Manage and maintain current network, server, and file sharing infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain access control systems and badges for all Company locations
  • Configure and deploy communications systems such as phones and mobile devices
  • Manage and maintain all company hardware and software
  • Plan information technology upgrades, deployments, changes and other activities
  • Communicate status, issues and other milestones to supervisor and Company
  • Configure, execute and test backup and recovery functions
  • Perform all assigned duties with security as a key requirement for consideration and implementation
  • Connecting with GreyCastle employees to determine what IT needs they have in order to do their best work
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

This position oversees the Information Technology Specialist with potential to manage a team of 4-5 people within the next 3 years.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Required Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 2+ years in a management role with responsibility for a team
