Position Description

This is a dual role and will split time evenly between Security Program Management and Resource Management. The Security Program Manager is the primary contact for Managed Security Service (MSS) clients. This role is responsible for managing all services and projects provided to both Managed and Project-based clients to ensure seamless service delivery. This role will also be responsible for supporting the services team with overall resource assignments and utilization. Major job functions include resource forecasting, and the coordination of team capabilities with current, and future workload. The Security Program Manager is a critical team member and is essential to the delivery of security services at GreyCastle Security.

This position will be joining one of the three cybersecurity-focused teams at GreyCastle Security:

  • Technical Cybersecurity Unit
  • Business Cybersecurity Unit
  • Program Management Unit

Of the three core components of cybersecurity; people, process and technology, the Program Management Unit focuses primarily in process and oversight from a management perspective. The Management team partners with both Business and Technical teams to deliver solutions in an organized and planned manner.

Security Program Manager

  • Primary contact for MSS clients
  • Coordination and scheduling of projects supporting MSS contracts
  • Assigns and schedules service delivery resources for projects
  • Manages security roadmap and coordinates strategy and risk management activities with the Information Security Officer
  • Monitors and maintains program health through reporting and metrics

Resource Management

  • Responsible for orchestrating assignment of individual delivery resources to client projects based on skill, experience, goals, and availability
  • Responsible for management of overall resource utilization metrics and forecasting
  • Supports Security Program Management team and VP of services with analysis and reporting of utilization metrics and project cost analysis
  • Works with Practice Managers to ensure appropriate skillsets are maintained and forecasted in-line with expected projects and required expertise
  • Supports resource management functions of AutoTask, and assists with the testing and maintenance of critical features and configurations
  • Oversee implementation of PSA tools and processes, as necessary
  • Works closely with People and Culture, Services, Business Development, and Operations teams to review resource requests, client requirements, and need for new hires

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Program Management Skills and Responsibilities

The Security Program Management role is for individuals that have proven experience managing multiple projects. They must have a solid foundation of project management fundamentals and be able to apply them in real-world businesses situations. Ultimately, the Security Program Manager must be able to:

  • Have an expert understanding of GreyCastle Security service deliverables, tasks and milestones
  • Orchestrate service delivery for multi-year managed contracts
  • Have the ability to manage multiple project schedules

  • Lead program status calls and participate in client conversations
  • Produce monthly reports
  • Work collaboratively with multiple service teams

Resource Management Skills and Responsibilities

  • Extremely Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently
  • Professional written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with professional services automation (PSA) tools (AutoTask, ServiceNow, NetSuite OpenAir)

    • Experience with selection and implementation of PSA tools a plus
  • Experience supporting service delivery teams and or business development teams
  • Technically proficient, with strong skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
  • Ability to effectively triage competing priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work well in a fast-paced team environment with the ability to make solid decisions under pressure
  • Strong customer service skills with both internal and external clients

Required Education and Experience

  • Information security experience not required
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Resource management experience
  • Require relevant industry certification, such as ITIL, PMP, Six Sigma or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
